Picture Books are one of the most difficult forms of literary narrative to get right, because they are a narrative form which relies on illustrations as will as text to tell a story.
In quality picture books the illustrations not only expand upon the text but come in many ways to dominate them as the primary narrative of the story.
The visual narrative has a language all its own, one which the viewers of come to learn at an early age, paving the way for an understanding of many of the visual arts and designs that have become so important within our society.
